Books We Love

Looking for a new book to love? Here are a few of librarian Megan's favorites! If you want to check any of these out, head to your local public library or bookstore!

Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain

  • Do you find yourself pushing through a day where the conversations seem to go a mile minute? Do you dread small talk? You might be an introvert! In Quiet, Susan Cain lays out how to navigate a society that rewards extroverted traits. If you're an introvert, this is a validating and helpful read!

American Gods by Neil Gaiman

  • Shadow finds himself caught in the battle for America's soul after the mysterious Mr. Wednesday hires him not long after Shadow gets out of prison. American Gods remains one of my favorite books because Gaiman conveys a worthy setting for this epic battle between "old world" gods  and ones of his own devising.

Tea Dragon Society series by K. O'Neill

  • This graphic novel series features a group of caretakers who care for tea dragons, tiny dragons with leaves that, when brewed, make a very special tea! The stories all feature characters trying to figure themselves out--all with the support of their friends and tea dragons!  With great character relationships and vivid, beautiful art, this is a fantastic series if you need a cozy, comforting read. The series is great for kids too!
