Theyab Alhwiti, Ph.D.

Background and Research Interests

Dr. Theyab Alhwiti joined the faculty of Bay State College in January 2020. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial and Systems Engineering with an emphasis on Data Analytics from Auburn University. His research interests include data analytics, health informatics, supply chain management, and operation management. Dr. Alhwiti has published in such peer-reviewed journals as The International Journal of Logistics Systems and Management, Journal of Intelligent Manufacturing, American Journal of Gastroenterology, and Journal of Transportation Law, Logistics, and Policy. Prior to joining Bay State College, Dr. Alhwiti was an operational industrial engineer at the United States Postal Service. While at USPS he led projects to analyze data to identify service failures and opportunities for improvements in mail processes. Dr. Alhwiti also implemented various Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement projects at USPS that led to improvements in mail processing and the plant's visibility score.
