Bonnie Olson

Background and Professional Experience

Professor Bonnie Olson has enjoyed a long and successful career in Human Resources. She worked for 40 years in both profit and non-profit organizations in the medical and human service industry. As a Vice President of Human Resources for a large human service agency, she implemented a national certification program for the organization. She was a key player in establishing compensation and benefits program, identifying, and implementing training and development programs, succession planning for key personnel, employee relations, and strategic planning. She was instrumental in the successful acquisition from one organization to another and onboarding employees. As a Human Resource Consultant, she provided guidance and recommendations to department managers and supervisors on employee issues and other human resource matters.

In addition, she has taught kindergarten, worked as a case manager/social working in a rehabilitation facility, and was also a newspaper correspondent. Recently retired from her career in Human Resources, she is now focusing on teaching full time. Professor Olson has been with Bay State College since 2005. Prior to teaching at Bay State, she taught business classes at Massasoit Community College.
