Mental Health in Times of Crisis: A Multidisciplinary Discussion of Effects and Mitigation Strategies

On Friday, April 9, 2021 at 12:45 p.m., the Bay State College Delta Upsilon Chapter of the Alpha Delta Nu Honor Society will be presenting Mental Health in Times of Crisis: A Multidisciplinary Discussion of Effects and Mitigation Strategies. The virtual event will be targeting all current, new, or incoming healthcare workers and will focus on mental health in the fields of self-care, substance abuse, PTSD, therapeutic communication, and working through the COVID-19 pandemic.

As a requirement for the induction into the Alpha Delta Nu Honors Society, each chapter is required to complete a project to be formally inducted. The President of the honor society, Elizabeth Zeibig, along with Amanda McInerney, the Vice President, and Samantha Ryder, the Secretary, are leading the efforts of this project, along with their peers Luis Cano, Rachel Robbio, Jeremiah Fredette, Colin Tyburski, Jonathan Lam, and Sara Thorberg. Their faculty advisor is Program Chair for the Nursing RN to BSN program and Assistant Professor, Jennifer Verstreken.
As a member of the May 2021 cohort, Zeibig states, "One of the biggest things I love about this program is its academic flow. From semester 1 through semester 5, all the information you learn builds on itself and prepares you for new and incoming information. As a senior, I feel the strong foundation I received in my first semester played a very huge role in my success in the following semesters." The mission of the Alpha Delta Nu Nursing Honors Society is to recognize the academic excellence in the study of Associate Degree Nursing. The society encourages the pursuit of advanced degrees in the profession of nursing as well as continuing education as a life-long professional responsibility.
