Library
The Bay State College Library offers a variety of resources in support of the teaching and learning of the College curriculum.
The Bay State College Library, located at 31 St. James Avenue, is committed to providing quality library services to students and faculty. The Library, which is staffed by a full-time librarian, evening librarian, and weekend librarian, provides an array of information resources, study space, computers, and research instruction to support teaching and learning.
The Bay State College Library houses more than 9,000 books, 75 print periodical subscriptions, and provides access to 7 online research databases. The Library has 20 computers, 20 circulating laptops, a printer, and a coin-operated copy machine. Many, but not all, of the textbooks used each semester are kept on Reserve behind the front desk.
Through Massachusetts Library System membership, the Library participates in regional inter-library loan. Resources not available through the BSC Library may be borrowed from other libraries through this service. In addition, students have full borrowing privileges at the Boston Public Library, an excellent research facility located a few short blocks from the College. See the Boston Public library website for more information.
The Library is intended to be used as a place for study and research. All individuals using or visiting the Library must adhere to the following policies:
- Loud conversations will not be tolerated within the Library. Students who wish to socialize will be encouraged to use the student lounges on campus.
- Cell phone use is not permitted anywhere in the Library.
- Library computers are for academic use only.
- Library staff reserve the right to ask any individual acting in an inappropriate manner to leave the Library.
