The Bay State College Library offers a variety of resources for students, faculty and staff. In addition to our print collection, we offer a variety of electronic resources all now available from your home or dorm room at http://library.baystate.edu. All students at Bay State College are introduced to the library at an in class orientation in the beginning of their first semester.
The Bay State College Library is located on the second floor of 31 James Avenue. Our hours, which are subject to change during holidays and school closings are:

The Library is staffed by one full time Librarian, one part time Library Intern and several student Assistants.
Middleborough students can also benefit from Bay State College's agreement with the Maxwell Library at Bridgewater State College. Bay State College's Middleborough students are encouraged to utilize the Maxwell Library to access walk-in librarian assistance, resources for academic research, and study space. In addition, students who are current Bridgewater residents are eligible for a free community borrower's card, which grants the cardholder borrowing privileges for one year at the Maxwell Library. Students who are non-Bridgewater residents may purchase a library card for $20.00 for a six month period. Students are asked to help us create a quiet environment conducive to study here at the Library. Please refrain from loud talking and cell phone use upon entering the Library. Circulating
Students at Bay State College are welcome to check out any of the items in our circulating collection. Students must have a valid Bay State College I.D. with them. The books are checked out for two weeks at a time. Overdue books accrue a fine of 10 cents a day until they are returned. Students are limited to checking out 10 books at a time. Students who choose to check books out of the library are responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged library materials, as well as for returning items by their due date. When an item becomes 60 days overdue, it will be declared lost, and the borrower will be charged the following to their student account:
If the lost book is returned within 1 year of billing, the student will be refunded the cost of the book (but not the processing charge.) Reference
The Bay State College Library also has a large non-circulating reference collection. These books are specifically designated as reference books, and may not leave the Library under any circumstances. Students, faculty and staff at Bay State College can look for Circulating and Reference items through the online catalogue. Reserve During the school year faculty may designate some materials for course reserve. These items can include periodicals, books, textbooks and articles. Items on course reserve are available to students for up to two hours at a time, and may not leave the Library under any circumstances. Students must sign out the items at the front desk. Faculty are free to contact the Librarian about placing an item on course reserve. Periodicals
The Library currently subscribes to a large number of periodicals. These periodicals are available for student use within the Library and do not circulate. Please check the online catalog to see if the Library subscribes to a particular journal or magazine. VHS/DVD Collection
The Library has a
collection of videos for faculty classroom use. Faculty may borrow two videos
at a time for a two-week period. Faculty may also designate a dvd to be
placed on reserve so that students can view a film in the library. Please

The Library has 20 computer workstations and 6 circulating laptops for academic use. For wireless internet access in the library, enter your full Bay State College email address and email password at the Aruba login screen. Library Orientations
All Bay State College students are introduced to the Library at an orientation session during their first semester. These library orientations are tailored to be subject and program specific, and include basic reference, web searching, bibliography and citation, and using ProQuest and LexisNexis. In addition, individual library instruction is available. Students are free to make an appointment or drop in anytime. Faculty are also welcome to schedule either an orientation session or a class visit to the Library, but please give the Librarian one week's notice before bringing a class in. Copy Machine

international affairs, education, the environment, technology, and the economy. This database provides full-text articles and abstracts from respected nursing, medical and healthcare journals.

Search the BPL catalog for books and other items, or use your BPL library card to access hundreds of online resources! You can apply for a temporary e-card online; to get a library card be sure to bring proof of residency or attendance at Bay State College.
