Tuition Refund Policy
Students who need to withdraw from Bay State College must complete an Official Withdrawal form with their Program Chair. The student’s official date of withdrawal is the date the college is notified via the form. Tuition will be adjusted in accordance with the published refund schedule (below), based on the official date of withdrawal. The refund percentage is applied to tuition only. All fees are nonrefundable once classes have begun. Deposits toward tuition are nonrefundable.

Financial Aid Implications of Withdrawing from the College

Financial aid awards will be adjusted according to federal regulations, which stipulate that a student who withdraws retains aid in proportion to the percentage of the semester he or she was enrolled. If the student withdraws during the first 60% of the semester, a portion of his or her federal funds must be returned. The student and Bay State College will share responsibility for returning these funds. Once the student has completed more than 60% of the semester, no adjustment to the financial aid award is necessary. Students are strongly encouraged to meet with the Financial Aid Office staff prior to withdrawal to determine the financial impact of their withdrawal from Bay State College. Federal, state and institutional funds will be adjusted according to the regulations governing these programs.

BOOKS AND FEES
The cost of books and supplies varies depending on the courses taken each semester. Various programs of study may require the payment of a program fee. These fees cover the added cost of supplies specific to the programs.

An online class Technology Fee of $75.00 will be charged for each online course taken by a student in either CE or Day.

RESIDENCE HALL FEES

Residence Hall Deposit: $200
Residence hall deposits are payable yearly when the Residence Agreement is submitted. The $200 deposit reserves a student’s place in the residence halls. The deposit will be applied toward the student’s account as payment toward charges for the academic period. The residence hall deposit is nonrefundable.

Room and Board: $11,800
(includes a breakfast and either lunch or dinner during the week and brunch and dinner on weekends.)

Residence Hall Technology Fee: $250
A residence hall technology fee of $250 is charged to all students who reside on campus. The fee covers items including hardware and service for Internet access and cable television in rooms and common areas.

Security/Damage Deposit: $300

There is a $300 security/damage deposit due 45 days prior to a student's move-in to the Garden Halls Residence. This deposit will be refunded within 90 days of departure, provided that the student’s place of residence has not been damaged beyond that sustained by normal usage and there are no other balances to Bay State College.

Residence Hall Payment Policy
Residence costs are based on a full academic year. Students are responsible for the full year’s room and board cost upon withdrawal. Students must withdraw from the residence halls when not enrolled at the college.

Refund Policy
Weeks are defined by seven calendar days; i.e., if the semester begins on a Wednesday, the end of week one would be the following Tuesday and week two would begin on Wednesday.
