Tuition & Fees

Bay State College's Financial Aid Office is available to help students attain their educational goals. Bay State College encourages all students to apply for both federal and state financial aid programs.

2011-12 Tuition Charges

On Campus Students:

Policy Statement: Tuition charges are assessed on a per credit hour basis.  This provides students with maximum flexibility based on individual financial and academic needs, ultimately making a Bay State College education more accommodating and affordable.  Rates quoted below are for the 2011-12 academic year. Charges are not prorated unless noted. Cost per credit hour: $731

Evening Division Students:

Policy Statement: For the 2011-12 Academic Year, tuition is charged for Evening Students at the rate of $283 per credit hour. 

Online Students:

Policy Statement: For the 2011-12 Academic Year, tuition is charged for Online Students at the rate of $325.00 per credit hour. Technology fee per Course: $75.00

Breakdown of Fees

Application Fee: $40
Payable with the application for admission. This fee is nonrefundable.

Computer Lab Fee: $50 per CIS Course (EVENING DIVISION)
Payable with the application for admission. This fee is nonrefundable.

General Lab Fee: $50 per Course (EVENING DIVISION)
The lab fee is assessed of each Evening Division student where a lab component is included in the course.

Tuition Deposit: $100 ($250 for Nursing students)
Payable upon receipt of the acceptance letter. This nonrefundable deposit is applied to tuition charges.

Health and Human Services Program Fee: $475
The Health and Human Services Program Fee is charged annually to all Day students enrolled in the Medical Assistant, Nursing, and Physical Therapist Assistant programs.  This fee is nonrefundable.  This fee is prorated for students starting classes in January.

Student Activities Fee: $50

Student Services Fee: $400 (ON CAMPUS/DAY STUDENTS ONLY)
The Student Services Fee is charged annually to all Day students to cover the cost of various activities including orientation, the Learning Center, computers and Internet access, as well as career placement services.  This fee is prorated for students starting classes in January.  This fee is nonrefundable.

Books, Supplies, and Program Fees
The cost of books and supplies varies depending on the courses taken each semester. Some programs of study may require the payment of a program fee. These fees cover the added cost of supplies specific to the programs.  Book Vouchers may be available to students who qualify.  Please see the Financial Aid Office to obtain a Voucher. An online class Technology Fee of $75.00 will be charged for each online course taken by a student in either CE or Day.

Residence Hall Fees

Resident Hall Deposit $300

Each incoming student wishing to live in our on-campus housing facilities for the fall must submit a completed Residence Agreement and also a $300 Deposit to reserve the space.  Upon occupancy, this initial deposit will be applied as the student’s Security Deposit.  The Security Deposit is only refundable once the student attends classes and permanently withdraws from housing without damages to the housing facility.

 Bay State will have up to 90 days after final move-out date to make residence damage assessments and to issue a return of Security Deposits.  Security Deposit refunds will be made after damage assessments (if any) have been deducted.  Residents who contract for an additional term of residence will have their deposit held until the end of the additional term.  Students will be required to submit a “Security Deposit Waiver” when contracting for additional terms acknowledging that they will not be receiving a refund at the end of the housing term and that it will be rolled over to the next term.

Room and Board: $11,800

The Room and Board fee is assessed annually and covers all housing expenses.  Rooms are doubles, triples and larger.  Includes 14 meals per week.  Students can select from breakfast and either lunch or dinner during the week and brunch and dinner on weekends.  This fee is nonrefundable.

Residence Hall Technology Fee: $250

A residence hall technology fee of $250 is charged to all students who reside on campus. The fee covers items including hardware and service for Internet access and cable television in rooms and common areas.

Residence Hall Payment Policy

Residence costs are based on a full academic year. Students are responsible for the full year’s room and board cost upon withdrawal. Students must withdraw from the residence halls when not enrolled at the college.
