Learning Accomodations

Bay State College is committed to providing accommodations to students with disabilities. Each individual has a basic right to an education that aligns with his or her aspirations, talents, and skills. Support services ensure students with disabilities an equal opportunity to participate fully in the total college experience

Process of Registering for Accommodations at Bay State College:

Students must register for Accommodations each semester by meeting with the appropriate 504 Coordinator. 

Step 1: Complete requirements for eligibility

Before scheduling an appointment with a 504 Coordinator, students must fulfill all the requirements listed below:
  1. Student is officially accepted to the college AND planning to attend
  2. Student must have their academic schedule to hand-deliver to 504 Coordinator
  3. Student must have all necessary and required documentation, as outlined below, ready to hand-deliver to 504 Coordinator
Additional Notes:
  •  Diagnostic measures/documentation must be on letterhead, dated, signed and include the professional's name, title, organization, license or certification.
  • Learning Disabilities and/or ADD/ADHD: Documentation must be completed within 2 years by a qualified professional
  • Documentation of Learning Disabilities must include Neuropsychological and/or Psycho-educational testing. Scores and all subtest results must be included in the documentation.
  • Psychiatric/Emotional/Behavioral: Students who have a psychiatric  and/or emotional disability must specifically work with, and submit documentation to, the counselor, Cheryl Raiche
  • Physical (Permanent): Not specified
  • Physical (Temporary): Situational

 Bay State College reserves the right to request for further documentation if deemed necessary and/or if the documentation being received is not up-to-date.

Step 2: Schedule meeting with appropriate 504 Coordinator

Once a student has fulfilled all the requirements listed above, students should contact the appropriate 504 Coordinator to schedule a meeting.  Students are encouraged to schedule a meeting with the appropriate 504 Coordinator during the first week of a new semester.
