Staff & Faculty Involvement

Bay State College has been fostering a culture of charity and giving back which has motivated faculty and staff to engage in a number of charitable activities designed to improve the quality of life of off-campus community residents, particularly low-income and disadvantaged individuals.

In 2009-2010:

  • 23% of full time Bay State employees volunteered regularly
  • Of those employees who volunteered we have counted over 35 different charities and organizations that have benefited; activities include:
  • Building homes for Hurricane Katrina 
  • Career Readiness Workshop for foster children from CECS
  • PEER Servants - Economic consulting trip to Manila, Philippines
  • Partnering with Thompson Island Outward Bound Program
  • Mission Haiti - Part of the Medical Team assisting FEMA/DMAT with relief efforts
  • 60 mile/3 day walk for breast cancer
  • Running a 5k road race while blindfolded
  • Serving as a big brother
  • Cooking meals for active duty military and their families
