Professor Preston is currently Department Chair of the Entertainment Management program. He holds a Doctorate of Law and Policy and a Masters in Arts from Northeastern University.

Areas of interest include Legal issues in the Entertainment Industry, Copyright Law and File Sharing, Film Production, Financing and Distribution, Screenwriting, and the global dimension and impact of American Entertainment

He is a member of the Music & Entertainment Industry Educators Association and the International Association of Law and Policy.

Research

Current areas of research include how Entertainment & Music Industry students engage in file sharing behavior; Teaching Ethical Decision Making to Entertainment Industry Students, and documentary film producing - Social Justice and Democracy in Costa Rica.
