Professor Julie Viscardi-Smalley is Assistant Professor of Entertainment Management and Music at Bay State College in Boston, MA, recently receiving the Faculty Excellence Award (2009). Viscardi-Smalley teaches on-ground and online courses such as Introduction to the Music Industry, American Music in the 20th Century, Music Fundamentals, Record Company Operations, Concert Production and Copyright and Music Publishing.

Professor Viscardi-Smalley advises two student organizations – MEISA (The Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association) and AES (The Audio Engineering Society). She is a professional member of The Music and Entertainment Industry Educators Association, The Audio Engineering Society, The College Music Society, The American Musicological Society and Music Educators’ National Conference.
Professor Viscardi-Smalley has worked in concert production, booking, artist management and is a performer herself.
